The Girl with the Lightning Hair

I thought I had experienced proper thunderstorms, that is until I moved to Texas! The lightning here is constant and the thunder violently shakes the apartment all night long. I've found these storms to be terrifying and powerful and beautiful all at the same time. 
 
There is this kind of inspiring power found in femininity, and I wanted to capture that in this painting. I created this image with watercolor and collaged origami paper.
